Our story
The Association for EMDR Psychotherapy of the Republic of North Macedonia Skopje is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan association of citizens registered on 08/25/2021 with headquarters in Skopje.
It was formed through a free association of mental health experts, psychologists, psychotherapists who practice the EMDR psychotherapy technique in Macedonia, and who obtained a certificate for at least the first level from the European Association of EMDR.
Since August 25, 2021, the Association is an equal member of the European Association for EMDR, which establishes the standards for the application of EMDR in clinical practice, research and education. High standards for the application of EMDR are guaranteed through the conditions for certification and accreditation of therapists by the European association.
Mission, vision, goals and objectives
The association for EMDR psychotherapy in the Republic of North Macedonia, Skopje, is being formed for the purpose of realizing a wider common interest, professional advancement of its members through constant education and familiarizing the public with the benefits of applying the EMDR technique.
Mission
EMDR therapy aims to improve the lives of people who have experienced traumatic events and suffer from mental illnesses related to stressful experiences and relationships from individual, collective or mass accidents, as well as promoting and improving mental health.
The EMDR Association of the Republic of North Macedonia provides therapists and clients with access to information regarding quality therapeutic services based on EMDR protocol standards with full respect for their health and safety.
Vision
Therapy with the EMDR technique will be one of the possibilities for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorders.
Basic goals and objectives
The main goal of the Association EMDR North Macedonia is:
– establishing, maintaining and sharing the highest quality standards for EMDR practice, research and training for the benefit of the general public.
-also promotes EMDR psychotherapy as a treatment for a wide range of psychological conditions,
- to establish common quality standards for trainers, assistants, supervisors and EMDR educators with other European countries, with the help of EMDR Europe,
- participates in organizing conferences and workshops as a way to support the goals of the Association.
